Davina McCall defends Prince William after antics at Taylor Swift gig go viral

Davina McCall jumped to the defence of "top dad" Prince William after the future king was spotted dancing at a Taylor Swift concert.

On Monday's Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston, the Big Brother legend said she didn't "care how he's dancing" after the Prince of Wales threw caution to the wind at the UK leg of The Eras Tour on June 21.

Jamie said he "can't help thinking" that there had been a "lot of fun" made at the prince's expense and his "dad dancing", and he was "led to believe" that "gender-based prejudice" was "no longer acceptable".

Davina said: "Can I just say the fact that Prince William took his kids to Taylor Swift makes him like top dad - top dad. I don't care how he's dancing."

Jamie replied: "And I think that us dads should not feel self-conscious." Davina quickly interjected, saying (in reference to Jamie's dancing) that she saw a "bit of it earlier, and it was lovely".

The pair then played a few short musical clips as Jamie shouted that it was "super special", with Davina following up by saying it was "really good" and they had to "batten down the hatches".

The Prince of Wales attended the Wembley Stadium concert with his children, Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 9, to celebrate his 42nd birthday.

William was spotted dancing to Swift's "Shake it Off" – swinging his arms and smiling with his children – in an amusing moment that stood in stark contrast to Harry's glum expression at the Beyoncé Renaissance tour in LA.

Richard Eden, the diary editor at the Daily Mail wrote on X: "Pleased to see #PrinceWilliam enjoyed watching #TaylorSwift in London more than #PrinceHarry appeared to enjoy Beyonce in Los Angeles."

Prince William and his daughter also shared a sweet moment at the concert, according to Hello! Magazine, with an insider saying they had a "little sing-song together".

The trio were also lucky enough to secure a special treat from the star herself - a selfie with Taylor.

Also in attendance were William's cousin, Zara Tindall, her husband, Mike Tindall, and their two daughters, Mia and Lena.
