Police raid home in relation to death of brave doctor House part was held there hours before the attackREAD MORE: Sister pleads for burglar who killed her brother to come forward
Detectives investigating the death of a Melbourne doctor following a home invasion have swarmed a house where a party was held hours earlier.
Daily Mail Australia witnessed at least five police officers scouring the residence in Doncaster, in the city’s eastern suburbs, on Tuesday morning.
Dr Gordon, 33, was fatally stabbed when he gave chase to a group of intruders who broke into his Sargent Street home on Saturday.
He was fatally stabbed after following the thugs in his car and getting out to confront them.
Neighbours told Daily Mail Australia the property now under scrutiny by police was the site of a raucous celebration in the hours before Dr Gordon was attacked.
The development comes after neighbours reported a spate of crimes throughout the street in recent weeks, including a November break-in and theft of a car last week.

During Tuesday’s raids, a young man was seen seated in the front passenger seat of an unmarked car, alongside two female officers.
The officers escorted the unhandcuffed man, dressed in a long singlet top, shorts and boots, into the two-storey property.
Detectives could be seen scouring the upstairs floor and carrying out cardboard evidence bags and boxes filled with documents.
Detectives, wearing gloves and face masks, were later seen paying special attention to a garage adjoining the house.
Inside, a mattress was leaned up against a wall next to a fridge, topped with a blue ice box. Some officers focused on an area next to some yellow-lidded bins.
After several hours, officers emerged from the property carrying cardboard evidence bags.
No charges have been laid. An officer told Daily Mail Australia not to expect an arrest, and it is not suggested the occupants of the home played a role in the doctor’s death.

Dr Gordon was asleep in his two-storey townhouse when a gang of thugs broke in around 5am on Saturday.
His devastated housemate and best friend Tristen Standing said Dr Gordon was a ‘protector’ and immediately sprung into action. Mr Standing stayed home and called 000.
Dr Gordon chased the intruders out of the house and pursued them in his car before they fatally stabbed him during a confrontation some 500metres away, on nearby Elidon St.
Frightened neighbours called police after hearing the commotion and Dr Gordon’s body was discovered a short time later.
His attackers remain on the run and no arrests have been made.
Dr Gordon’s girlfriend has told police his attackers stole a few items from the house, including laptops and shoes.
The handcuffed man was lead into the home in scrutiny by two female officers who kept him on the bottom floor while investigators combed through the upstairs level

Dr Gordon, from the regional, coalmining town of Morwell, studied medicine at university, graduating with honours.
He later opened his Richmond-based cosmetic clinic Redefine Aesthetics, which specialises in skin health, wellness and anti-ageing.
Sister Natalie Gordon told reporters the family are struggling coming to terms with her brother’s death.
She described her younger sibling as a very ‘patient and loving’ person who ‘poured his heart and soul’ into his work as a doctor.
‘He was my best, best, little big brother. He was such a cheeky, light-hearted fun person,’ Natalie said.
‘He gave his all to everyone – in his family, and in his job – and put everyone ahead of himself.
‘He just wanted to provide the best doctor care that he could provide, because he felt that you need a best point of call for your first doctor – and he was that.’
Officers were seen paying particular attention to a garage adjoining the house and ferrying brown evidence bags from the room and into an awaiting vehicle
Dr Gordon’s family and friends gathered at his two-storey unit on Monday to begin the daunting process of packing his belongings.
The group were seen carrying boxes and bundles of clothes from the house and piling them into the back of a ute.
Wiping away tears, Natalie said the family were working to ‘bring Ash home’ by taking his things home to Gippsland. As the family come to terms with the tragedy, they have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact to police.
Natalie had a sterner message for her brother’s killers.
‘Hand yourself in,’ she said.
‘It is an absolute disgrace to mankind to do something to someone so, so wonderful.
‘The world is a worse place now because he has been taken not only from us but the wider community.’
