US Open champion Coco Gauff blazed her way into the last 16 of the Australian Open with an easy win against Alycia Parks in Melbourne.
Gauff barely needed to get out of second gear as she cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win in an hour.
Parks had no answer for No. 4 seed Gauff, who was on a completely different level and looks more and more comfortable as a leading contender in Major tournaments.
‘I’m really happy with how I played today,’ Gauff said. ‘The scoreline says different, she is a tough player.
‘I’ve known her since I was like nine or eight, probably even younger but our first time ever playing. Hopefully we can have many more matches in the future.
‘Return of serve, it’s tough cos she is a big server. You’re not going to be able to strike as much as you want to. She is a big hitter, she likes it fast but I was trying my best to be as aggressive as I could.
‘I always enjoy Melbourne, it reminds me of Florida a little bit and the crowds here are very nice.’
