Shrimps are good sources of protein as well as other essential micronutrients, and very low calories. However, they may also contain some levels of cholesterol. Since diabetics are usually on calorie restricted diet, shrimps may be okay. Nevertheless, due to the relatively high level of cholesterol, it may be good to either avoid eating shrimps or eat it very sparingly while employing healthy cooking methods. Overall, diabetics are allowed to eat their usual food, as there are no diabetic diet, emphasis are placed more on portion control.

Diabetics can eat shrimp. Shrimp is a good source of protein and is also high in omega 3. Omega 3 plays an essential role in reducing and maintaining inflammation, which means that it can help to preserve heart health in diabetics who are at an increased risk of heart related diseases.

Diabetics can certainly include shrimp in their diet. But shrimp does have high amounts of cholesterol compared to other seafoods so that is something to consider if you have diabetes.
