Dylan Sprouse shared details about his very quirky 2022 proposal to now-wife Barbara Palvin, which included a sea otter.
The 31-year-old former child actor and 30-year-old model exchanged vows in Hungary last July.
People shared a sneak peek at the upcoming February 12 episode of the Tamron Hall Show, in which Sprouse explained that he and Palvin both love sea otters and so he tried to incorporate them when he popped the question.
‘Big Sur is an immensely beautiful place… and I knew I wanted to do it there,’ he told the host in an video clip shared by the outlet, noting that one of the bluffs there is known to be one of the most populated sea otter zones in California.
‘So, I was like, “Okay, we’re gonna get down on the knee there’s gonna be tons of sea otters all around,” and as soon as we were walking in to the wildlife park, one of the rangers came up and said, “Hey, just to let you guys know, we haven’t seen sea otters here in months,”‘ he added.

He added, ‘I was like, all right, we’re here anyway, and I’m already in a button-down on a hike.’
After hiking two miles, Sprouse said he ‘got down on one knee over a beautiful vista, did the thing, she said yes, thankfully, and then immediately afterwards, we see a little head bob out of the water.’
The Big Daddy actor recalled, ‘And he rolls on his back, and he looks up at us.’
Hall, dressed in a snazzy red blazer, chimed in, ‘The sea otter was there to anoint the moment.’
‘He was. It was fated because he came up as soon as she said yes,’ Dylan recounted, before noting that it was the first time one of the animals had been seen in the area ‘in months.’
The couple said ‘I do’ near the Hungarian capital of Budapest in July, one month after confirming their engagement.
Last March, Palvin flashed a diamond engagement ring at the Mammoth Film Festival but did not confirm their plans to marry.
Barbara and Dylan dated for six years, after the actor contacted her via a social media direct message in 2017.

Palvin raved about her beau while speaking to Vogue Australia in 2019 as she said, ‘I feel like I found the perfect guy.’
‘He’s very kind and gentle…That’s what I do on my day off: I spend it with the people I love and I’m very much in love right now.’
In March 2023 a source told ET that the Hungarian beauty was engaged and had ‘been showing off her ring to people.’
The couple had been engaged since September 2022, and Dylan later shared with V Magazine: ‘We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement.’
