PM expresses deep grief as Jain seer Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj attains Samadhi
Expressing deep grief on Jain seer Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj attaining Samadhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that Acharya Ji’s valuable efforts for spiritual awakening among the people will always be remembered.
He said the demise of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj is an irreparable loss for the country.
The Prime Minister also recalled his meeting with Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj last year at Chandragiri Jain Temple in Chhattisgarh and said that the meeting will be unforgettable for him.
In his post on X, PM Modi wrote,”I had the honour of receiving his blessings for years. I can never forget my visit to the Chandragiri Jain Mandir in Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh late last year. That time, I had spent time with Acharya Shri 108 Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj Ji and also received his blessings…”
The Prime Minister also said that Acharya Ji’s valuable efforts for spiritual awakening among the people will always be remembered. Throughout his life he remained engaged in poverty alleviation as well as promoting health and education in the society, Modi added.
At the BJP’s National Convention 2024 in Delhi, PM Modi, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states and BJP leaders observed a one-minute silence on the demise of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj.
BJP national president JP Nadda also spoke on the demise of Acharyaji.
