PS5 Slim price cut to under £430 at Amazon and Very

Sony’s PS5 Slim console has once again received a price cut, with new offers on the disc and digital versions.

While it’s not quite as cheap as discounts earlier in the year, Sony’s PS5 Slim has had yet another price temporary price cut.

As Sony looks to drive unit sales after missing its targets for the last financial year, multiple UK retailers have cut the price of the console for both the disc and digital versions.

If you’re after a version of the console with a disc drive, Amazon has reduced the price by £50 from £479.99 to £429.99. The console was reduced to around £410 recently, so it’s not the cheapest price it’s been, but it’s still a decent saving.

You can also save £40 on the PS5 Slim Digital Edition over on Very, which has reduced the price from £389 to £349. It’s the cheapest price available on the Digital Edition at the moment, so stock might run out fast.

Remember: you can’t play any physical games on the digital system, hence the cheaper price in comparison to the disc version.

While there’s been a strong line-up of PlayStation 5 games in the early months of 2024, thanks to Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Sony’s line-up for the rest of the year is largely unknown.

The company previously said not to expect any ‘major’ first party games until after April 2025, but there’s rumours a new Astro Bot could be on the way.

The frequent price cuts might also have something to do with the inevitable PS5 Pro console, which is expected to be revealed next month following various leaks concerning the console’s technical specifications.
