Somebody texted me to being stabbings in Redhead. I didn’t even see it on the news. Somebody texted me. It’s been stabbings in Forbury Gardens and I just something inside me just went cold. I instantly. Knew it was Sadala. And it turned on the news, and there’s a picture of him, and it was confirmed. So yeah, it was, it was horrible. And all thoughts of all, all the thoughts that go through your head, you know, Oh my God, What didn’t we do? What should we have done? How could you know? Sense of guilt almost that this had been happened. I sit on the management group and I sort of brought. Brought our interactions and there was a number of other interactions that were threatening, potentially threatening to the staff. While he was in and out of prison. When he was out of prison, he sort of came to our offices a couple of times. Some people were quite scared, so I tried to. Communicate with preventer as well as community mental health team and and and probation as as much as possible One to to make sure we had a safety plan in to protect our staff because we’d seen his potential for violence and to to try and support him as best we could. Because we we you know we’re a refugee and support agency so we we’ve got a duty of care to to to try and help him. Particularly then when we had the London Bridge incident which I thought was very similar the guy who committed the murder center was on a radicalisation. A deradicalization program and I just saw the parallels and I instantly thought, we’ve really got to do something to make sure this guy doesn’t go down the same path. So that’s the point. I started referencing London Bridge in my communications with with various agencies and bodies as an organization. And personally we did what we could and probably went a bit beyond what we. Were called to do so yeah, we tried, but it was a quite a. It’s such a difficult case, such a tragic story from the start. And it ended, ended in absolute tragedy. There was stuff we could all have done better than I think we. This tragedy didn’t have to happen. It could have been avoided, I think.
