Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Launch Soon, May Only Have Non-Turbo Engine

The next new car from Toyota happens to be the Urban Cruiser Taisor, set to launch early next year. There could be some changes regarding how the car will be positioned alongside its Maruti counterpart. The Taisor will be the most affordable SUV from Toyota, considering the Urban Cruiser based on the Brezza is not on sale and hasn’t been included in the range with the new Brezza release.

The Urban Cruiser Taisor will be based on the Maruti Fronx but might only offer a 1.2L petrol engine, excluding the turbo boosterjet. Yes, the Urban Cruiser Taisor could feature the standard 1.2L petrol with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) and manual transmission, while the Boosterjet might remain exclusive to the Fronx. The Taisor will have a different style compared to the Fronx, including changes to the front-end and possibly new alloy wheels. While the styling changes between the Taisor and Fronx will be significant compared to the Glanza/Baleno, they won’t be as extensive as those between the Grand Vitara/Hyryder.

The interiors are expected to remain the same but could come with a new interior color. The Urban Cruiser Taisor might have fewer available trims compared to the Fronx. Within the Fronx lineup, the 1.2L petrol engine has been more popular due to its price and value, making it one of the best-selling small SUVs alongside the Brezza in the Maruti range. When it arrives early next year, the Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected to be more expensive than the Fronx, possibly due to a nominal price hike.

Toyota recently launched the new Vellfire in India, while its range in partnership with Maruti Suzuki occupies the mass market segment.
