Temperatures will drop on Wednesday night

A new weather warning has been issued for Nottinghamshire, with Met Office saying snowfall could cause disruption. The yellow warning for snow will be in place from 3am on Thursday, February 8, until 3am on Friday, February 9.

It covers the East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire, North East, and North West, as well as much of Wales. In Nottingham, snowfall is expected from 6am on Thursday with a chance of precipitation of 60 per cent.

This will increase to 70 per cent throughout the morning and early afternoon, going back down to 60 per cent after 6pm, until 6am on Friday. Temperatures will range between 2C and 4C, however, the real feel will be as low as -3C.

The Met Office warned the is a small chance that power cuts will occur, while other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected. There is also a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off. Travel delays on roads could also be possible, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.

The rest of Friday in Nottingham will remain wet, with rainfall at a round 50 per cent until about 9pm. The rest of the weekend is forecast to be predominantly dry, but cold, with gusts reaching up to 26mph.
