Aleix Espargaro happy with his performance in 2023: ‘I am proud. I’m old, but I’m going fast’
It was in a positive note that Aleix Espargaro ended the season, with the rider speaking on the growth the team had during the season, with his own work to be a reason to be proud of.
After the last race of the season, the Aprilia Racing rider addressed his results overall: ‘Maverick [Viñales] and I are very close in terms of points. It’s true that the last two races, because of the incident with [Miguel] Oliveira, I couldn’t score many points, but in any case the important thing is the speed’.
His performance left him happy as he didn’t held himself from saying: ‘It’s the fact that I’ve won races, I’ve been on the podium, I’ve been on pole. I have been very fast. This year I have been the reference and for me it is important not only because of Maverick, who is a great rider, but also because of two very good riders like Miguel and Raul, who have a bike 95% like ours. So I am proud. I’m old, but I’m going fast’.
Aleix Espargaro ended the season in sixth place overall, with 206 points added, just two more than Maverick Viñales.
