BJP Hyderabad candidate Madhavi Latha declares assets worth Rs 221 crore
BJP’s candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, K Madhavi Latha, who is contesting against sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi, has family assets worth Rs 221 crore, as stated in her election affidavit.
Her family liabilities stand at Rs 27 crore, as disclosed by the BJP leader. Latha, who is contesting the high-profile seat, holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and has no criminal cases registered against her.
Meanwhile, her poll rival Asaduddin Owaisi’s family possesses assets valued at Rs 23.8 crore according to his submission before the Election Commission.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief’s family faces liabilities amounting to Rs 7 crore. The sitting Hyderabad MP has an LLB degree from London and has five criminal cases.
Hyderabad is going to the polls in the fourth phase on May 13. Latha filed her nomination papers on Wednesday, following a roadshow in the city. Owaisi had filed his on April 19.
Along with Latha and Owaisi, the Congress named Mohammed Waliullah Sameer from Hyderabad, while the BRS fielded G Srinivas Yadav.
