It’s a tough day for Vancouver Canucks fans.
Head coach Rick Tocchet reiterated on Friday that Thatcher Demko will not play the next few playoff games and is still “week-to-week.”
The 28-year-old goaltender suffered an undisclosed injury during the Canucks’ 4-2 win over the Nashville Predators in Game 1.
Tocchet told reporters ahead of Game 2 that Demko was considered day-to-day, but was downgraded to week-to-week following further evaluation.
Demko missed 14 games with a lower-body injury at the end of the Canucks’ Pacific Division-winning season. He returned for their penultimate regular-season game, where he secured a 4-1 victory.
