'They're taking over!' Late Late viewers point out amusing connection between guests

When viewers flicked over to RTÉ on Friday to watch the latest Late Late Show we doubt they expected to clock this connection between the guests!

The Donnybrook studio was teeming with well-known faces and observant X users were quick to point out an interesting link between them.

It appears RTÉ travelled up North and cherry-picked Friday night’s guests straight out of Co Tyrone.

Patrick was first joined by Michelle O’Neill, the new First Minister of Northern Ireland, who is a proud Tyrone lady and previously served as the first female Mayor of Dungannon and South Tyrone.

Elsewhere, the Down man interviewed stand-up comedian Kevin McAleer, who was born and bred in Omagh, Co Tyrone.

As if that wasn’t enough, everyone in the audience was given a gift from tan brand Bellamianta, created by Pomeroy native Linda Stinson.

However, RTÉ was sure to sidestep over to Belfast for Patrick’s next guest actor Stephen Rea – just for a bit of variety!

Late Late Show viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to poke fun at the (what we assume is) coincidence, with one writing: ‘Great representation from Tyrone on tonight’s #latelateshow I may be biased, but I think it’s the best yet.’

What’s happening to the Late Late as Graham Norton’s line-up trumps it yet again

Another penned: ‘Tyrone’s taking over tonight’s,’ and a third joked: ‘All these Tyrone folks on the #latelate tonight. Pat Spillane must be fuming.’

Unfortunately for The Late Late Show, Graham Norton’s latest Friday night line-up once again trounced it with star power with Graham interviewing big names such as The Crown’s Olivia Colman and actress Jodie Foster.
