‘didn’t wanted to join politics’: raaj kumar anand tells why he resigned from aap | exclusive
After Delhi Cabinet Minister Raaj Kumar Anand resigned from his post and submitted his resignation from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he exclusively spoke to Times Now.
Speaking to Times Now, Raaj Kumar Anand shared why he resigned from his post. He said, “I never wanted to join politics. I joined politics because of Arvind Kejriwal’s vision. I joined him because of his ideology, seems like everything is falling apart. I have submitted my resignation to CM office.”
While reaffirming on his allegations on non-representation of Dalits in AAP, he said, “Reservation is a constitutional mandate but Aam Aadmi Party is always on back foot when it’s about Dalit representation. I emphasized on sending a female Dalit leader to Rajya Sabha, when Swati Maliwal was sent. But nobody bothered about it. A total of 13 MPs sent to Rajya Sabha, but not a single Dalit leader was sent. I raised this issue several times. Nobody heard. Spoke to Chief Minister about this.”
While reacting on getting notice from ED, he said, “I have got no notice from Enforcement Directorate on April 12.”
Notably, Anand was also under ED’s scanner in connection with a money laundering case.
On November 2 last year, the ED conducted search operations at 13 locations in Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Uttar Pradesh as part of an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 [PMLA] against Raaj Kumar Anand and other connected persons/ entities.
