Get rid of BRS if you want to end loot of public money: Priyanka Gandhi

HYDERABAD: Telangana, created by the sweat and blood of the people, was being ruled from palaces and farmhouses, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said Monday, calling upon the people to get rid of the BRS government if they wanted the loot of public money to end.

“If BRS is re-elected, the government will run from palaces and farmhouses, which have been constructed and purchased by looting the wealth of the people,” Priyanka said while addressing rallies in Bhuvanagiri, Gadwal and Kodangal constituencies on the penultimate day of campaigning for the November 30 assembly polls.

KCR initially might have had it in his mind to do something good for the people, but as he grew politically stronger, he became corrupt, Priyanka alleged.

“Along with the people of Telangana, we were also watching his 10-year rule and were shocked to see how every member of KCR family got big ministerial posts, the rich became richer and poor the poorer, youths did not get jobs, and farmers’ unending wait for Rs 1 lakh crop loan waiver continues. All the policies of the BRS government were aimed at helping the rich and big business people. They did not have anything for the small business people, middle class, poor, dalits and adivasis,” she said.

The politics of BRS-BJP-AIMIM was to retain power to continue corruption and become richer, Priyanka alleged. BJP had become the world’s richest political party and BRS the richest in Telangana. On the other hand, the politics of the Congress was to empower the people and offer a corrupt-free, pro-poor government, she said.
