‘like skyscraper lying down…’ anand mahindra finds beauty in thalassery-mahe bypass
Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, is well-known for his strong online presence and never ceases to astound us with his social media posts. This time, the newly inaugurated Thalassery-Mahe national highway bypass in the south impressed him. He wrote, “Like a skyscraper lying down flat on its side,” by posting a beautiful photo of the 18.6-kilometer, six-lane road.
Mahindra added, “At first, it looked like a concrete imposition on the natural landscape. But it has its own aesthetic. And I can’t deny the temptation to cruise down it and appreciate the beauty on either side.”

The bypass picture was posted by Mahindra just a day ago, and in that time it has received almost 5,000 likes and over 221,000 views. Online users filled the comments section with a wide range of responses.

The Thalassery-Mahe National Highway bypass runs from Azhiyoor in Kozhikode to Muzhapilangad in the Kannur district. Four large bridges, a railroad flyover, and numerous underpasses and overpasses are all part of the roadway. On March 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the bypass.
