The iPhone is one of the most sought-after smartphones in the world and each year, when a new variant is launched, people are eager to get their hands on the device. This year, the iPhone 15 launched on September 12, during Apple’s Wonderlust event. The phone went on sale on September 22 and people were seen standing in queues outside the newly-opened Apple stores in Delhi.  The price of the 128GB variant of the iPhone 15 is Rs 79,900 while the 256GB variant costs Rs 89,900. The 512GB variant will be up for grabs for Rs 1,09,900. The phone is available in five colours and promises major upgrades when compared to the iPhone 14.

iPhone 15 specifications

The iPhone 15 comes with a 6.1 inch display and has five colour options – pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. For the iPhone 15, Apple has retained the same design as the iPhone 14 and previous models this time as well. However, instead of the usual notch, you get a Dynamic Island notch, which was a hit with the iPhone 14 Pro models last year.

There are some major upgrades in the camera department as there is an upgraded 48-megapixel primary camera sensor this time. To recall, the iPhone 14 had a 12-megapixel dual camera system. The processor too, has got an upgrade as the iPhone 15 is powered by Apple’s A16 bionic processor. Last year, Apple had used the A15 bionic chipset in iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus while the Pro models got the faster, and better, A16 chip.

Another feature of the iPhone 15 that was much-awaited is the shift to the USB Type C charging port. Apple has completely said goodbye to the lightning port with this change and has embraced the more commonly used, USB Type C charging. Hence, gone are the days when you needed to carry your special iPhone charging cable around everywhere you went.
