”They are so good.”

There is nothing like a home-cooked meal that offers all the comfort one could want, especially on a cold winter night. We love whipping up anything from our favorite pressure cooker pot roast to an old-school mac and cheese recipe with a crispy panko crust for the perfect crunch.
But let’s face it, we don’t always want to cook. Sometimes it’s been too long of a day to even think about trying to make something, and that’s when heat-and-eat meals come in handy. Costco is known to offer plenty of prepared meals and dinner shortcuts that make weeknights that much easier, and now it has another that’s gaining a lot of attention.
Okami Garlic BBQ Chicken Bao at Costco
Costco recently started carrying the new Okami brand Garlic BBQ Chicken Bao, which are soft, pillowy bao stuffed with chicken that’s been smothered in a garlic BBQ sauce. These bao are a take on Chinese steamed buns, a dim sum favorite.
What makes these such a great dinner is just how easy they are to prepare. Since they are fully cooked already, all you need to do is warm them for a few minutes, and voila! Simply steam them on the stovetop or pop them in the microwave for a quick and tasty dinner alongside your favorite veggie side dish.
The Instagram user @costcobuys recently posted about this latest find, writing, “Delicious Garlic BBQ Chicken Bao is at Costco!” The post also mentioned that these new steamed buns can be found for just $9.99.
Many commenters chimed in showing enthusiasm for the latest chicken dinner option, writing, “Yes please,” “omg want,” and “they are so good.” However, a few others were not too impressed, with one person stating, “I will say these are very sweet compared to other bao I’ve had.”
TikTok user @floridamomof3 posted a video review of the bao, and raved about the chicken filling, saying, “the BBQ flavor is fantastic.” Her daughter added that the bun is “perfect,” with them concluding, “out of all the ones that we’ve tried, I love these.” After dipping in some soy sauce and trying it with the buns, they commented that these are “so delicious” and would highly recommend them.
Anything that gives us a comforting dinner in just minutes sounds like a win to us, or at least worth a try. No word on how long these Garlic BBQ Chicken Bao will be around, so plan to grab some on your next Costco run while you can.
