The Fort St. John International Airshow Society say they’ve cancelled their Aug. 3 to 4 air show, which was scheduled for this summer.
“It was a tough decision to make. We were excited to bring the air show back in 2022 after a five-year hiatus and were looking forward to continuing on a two-year cycle. Unfortunately, we are just not able to make it happen for this year,” explained Sandi Miller, Airshow Producer, in a Facebook post on the society’s page.
The decision made in anticipation of the risk of wildfire in Peace Region due to the ongoing drought, and a lack of resources to provide a safe and entertaining show, they added.
However, the society says they remain “firmly committed to producing the highest quality air show for the community” and will be working hard to book new dates. I
