No illnesses or adverse effects from people have been reported, but the grocery store issued a voluntary recall for five varieties of breaded chicken chunks, four of them with a cup of sauce.
The varieties included plain, with buffalo sauce, with BBQ sauce, with sweet chili sauce and with honey mustard.
The chicken was sold between Feb. 2-12, at the following locations:
- 25 Kinnelon Rd., Butler
- 625 Paterson Ave., Carlstadt
- 160 Kingsland Road, Clifton
- 1189 Broad Street, Clifton
- 400 Demarest Ave., Closter
- 20 Washington Ave., Dumont
- 600 Kinderkamack Rd., Emerson
- 816 Franklin Ave., Franklin Lakes
- 380 W. Pleasantview Ave., Hackensack
- 425 Lewandowski St., Lyndhurst
- 500 State Route 23, Pompton Plains
- 175 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood
- 130 Skyline Dr., Ringwood
- 5 Town Center Dr., Sparta
- 665 American Legion Dr., Teaneck
- 34 West Railroad Ave., Tenafly
- 4 Union Ave., Wanaque
- 1220 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne
- 327 Franklin Ave., Wyckoff
The grocer advises anyone who may have purchased the chicken to throw it away or return it to its place of purchase for a refund.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the recall is urged to call customer service at 800-767-7772 for assistance.
This is not the first recall from Stop & Shop in the past few months. The grocer recalled 1-gallon Acadia Spring Water jugs sold in its New Jersey stores after it found that the water came from the area near a train derailment in Ohio in early February 2023.
