The public’s views have been requested into a proposal for a new community hub to be developed for a town in County Roscommon.
Funding has been secured for the development of plans for a community hub specifically for the people of Monksland.
Works are ongoing in the town to develop and significantly enhance the public realm and community facilities in Monksland with works starting on a new Central Park in quarter two in 2024, subject to planning.
For the next phase of the regeneration project, a public consultation has been launched to gather the public’s views on the development of a new community hub in the town.
A spokesperson for Roscommon County Council said, “Roscommon County Council is committed to develop and significantly enhance the public realm and community facilities in Monksland.
“We invite all individuals and community, sports and social groups to this public consultation on Wednesday, November 29 at the Athlone Springs Hotel.
“We have scheduled Walk in Sessions open to all members of the public from 7am to 12pm and from 4pm to 8pm.
“Come along and speak with a member of the design team on what is important to you in the development of a community hub for Monksland.
“If you are unable to attend, and wish to have your say, please feel free to complete our online questionnaire by Monday, December 4.”
