The Denver Nuggets versus Los Angeles Lakers matchup calls for some popcorn and a recliner. It’s absolute cinema in the Mile-High City. During the Nuggets victory on Monday Nikola Jokic made league history as the only player with a 25/20/10 playoff game.
Jokic finished the game with 27 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists. Denver now leads the series 2-0, headed to Los Angeles for Game 3 of the first round series.
Lakers head coach Darvin Ham talked prior to game about the teams need to stop Jokic or at least contain him, but that’s not as easy as it sounds. The Nuggets offense runs through Jokic in the playmaking and scoring realm.
Apr 20, 2024; Denver, Colorado, USA; Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (15) looks to pass against Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell (1) during the first quarter in game one of the first round for the 2024 NBA playoffs at Ball Arena Andrew Wevers-USA TODAY Sports
This will be a difficult record for anyone to break. Jokic hasn’t just done this once, he’s been able to record those exquisite numbers multiple times in his career. The two-time MVP continues to add to his historic resume.
