The Edmonton Oilers began their climb out of the NHL basement this past week. That was in no small part due to the incredible output from Connor McDavid this past week. For that output, he was named the first star of the week by the NHL.

With games against the Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Washington Capitals and Anaheim Ducks the captain turned his point producing jets on.
Over the course of the four games McDavid collected 12 points. Nine of those points came in the two wins versus the Capitals & Ducks.
Last night he recorded a five point game – scoring one goal (on a ripper of a wrist shot) and notching four assists.

The second star was Nikita Kucherov who scored eight points in three games. Juuse Saros was the third star, with three wins in three games to go along with a 2.35 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
McDavid and the Oilers look to continue their winning ways against the Vegas Golden Knights tomorrow night at Rogers Place. Game starts at 7PM Mountain Time.
