On Ram Charan’s birthday, a look at the RRR star’s upcoming projects
The RRR star Ram Charan celebrates his birthday today (March 27). The Telugu superstar’s wife Upasana recently posted a video of the family’s outing in Vizag for their daughter Klin Kaara’s first beach trip! Charan became a global face and practically announced himself to Hindi audiences with the unparalleled success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Here is everything that is in the pipeline for the actor:
Game Changer
Directed by Enthiran director Shankar, Game Changer is a straight-up political action thriller. Charan is no stranger to donning the mantle of an action hero, but in the deft and often eccentric hands of Shankar, it would be fascinating to see what the actor can put together. As a nod to his growing acceptance among Hindi audiences, he has been paired with Kiara Advani and pitted against the wonderful Prakash Raj.
RC 16
Currently titled ‘RC16’ (Charan’s 16th film) before it is actually given a real name, little is known about this film directed by Buchi Babu Sana, which also features Hindi cinema’s rising star Janhvi Kapoor. Supposedly a romantic thriller, the film will feature many high-profile actors, including the Tamilian gold standard of performance, Vijay Sethupathi and the stalwart musician A R Rahman.
RC 17
Next year Charan will be collaborating with Pushpa director Sukumar. Already being spoken of as a pan-India release, this film reunites the team that had also worked on Rangasthalam. Depending on how the much-anticipated release of Pushpa: The Rule goes, the stakes could only rise for this particular project.
International projects
Given Charan’s bow as an international star with RRR, the actor has made it clear he would be looking at international projects as well. While nothing has been shared as yet, Charan has spoken positively in several interviews, about the prospects of his international debut or at least a collaboration between industries of some sort.
