OnePlus 12 listed on official India website, set to launch soon
The OnePlus 12 is coming to India sooner than it is expected to launch. The upcoming flagship phone is all set to made its debut in China on December 5 and ahead of its unveiling, the company has indirectly confirmed the India launch of the OnePlus 12. The next-generation OnePlus phone is currently listed on the official website of OnePlus with a contest notice, suggesting that the device will launch soon.
While the exact launch date is still unknown, leaks are suggesting that the OnePlus 12 will arrive in India in January next year. If this is true, then OnePlus should start teasing the India launch just a few days after its China launch. The official listing of the OnePlus 12 also reveals the design of the phone.
The device will feature a quad camera system at the back and it will be backed by Hasselblad. The design looks similar to the previous version, but OnePlus seems to have made cosmetic changes. The upcoming OnePlus phone will be introduced in new colorways. The official image on the Indian website suggests that the device has a marble back panel with attractive green paint on it. The video teaser released for China revealed that the OnePlus 12 will come in 3 colours – white, black, and green.
While the exact specifications are still unknown, we do know some of the key features that OnePlus has so far confirmed. The device offers a BOE ProXDR display boasting a 2K resolution and a peak brightness of 2,600nits. It even has an A+ certification from DisplayMate, meaning it has one of the best displays. Powering the device will be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
The OnePlus 12 will also be integrated with a new generation X-axis motor. The device is teased to operate on ColorOS 14, which is based on the latest Android 14 operating system.
In the imaging department, the quad rear camera system will house a Sony LYTIA LYT808 primary rear camera sensor and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The rest of the details are yet to be confirmed by the company.
To recall, the OnePlus 11 was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 56,999. Its successor, the OnePlus 12, could be made available in a similar price range. The price is expected to be either the same or a little higher, depending on how it plans to attract customers and compete with the market. OnePlus has always undercut the competition by offering a spec-heavy phone at a slightly lower price than other popular flagship phones. The company might continue to follow the same strategy to woo customers.
