Pedro Acosta’s bike number for MotoGP revealed

Pedro Acosta will make his debut in the MotoGP World Championship in 2024 with GasGas Tech3. Following his Moto2 title, he takes the ultimate step into the premier class but will have to do so without his usual bike number.

Similar to last year in Moto2, the Spanish rider cannot use #37 as Augusto Fernández has chosen it and holds seniority in the paddock. In 2022, Acosta opted for #51… which is also unavailable as it is the number used by Ducati’s test rider Michele Pirro.

Consequently, the Moto2 and Moto3 world champion had to opt for a number he has never used in the paddock: #31. For now, there is no information about the reasons behind this choice or if there is any special significance to it.
