Perfume gifts that will get all the compliments this Christmas

Perfume gifts are always appreciated at Christmas, who wouldn’t love to get a new scent to add to their collection? Choosing it for a special someone however can be a little challenging, where do you start?

Writing about fragrance for many years now, I have a fair knowledge of what are universal crowd-pleasers that constantly get compliments.

They all have a note in common, and for Irish people who love their Gourmand (foody scents), each would be a great gift to give. For the most part, these six perfume gifts are all unisex fragrances and the note they share is a very chic and sophisticated take on vanilla.

Zendaya is the face of this feminine fragrance that comes in the thinnest bottle in the perfume world. It starts with a refreshing blend of pear and bergamot before two very different roses enter the fray, and its other notes are pear, rose, jasmine, musk and vanilla.

It’s a best-selling scent at Brown Thomas every year from Jo Malone London’s perfume gifts collection for Christmas. Classified as an Amber fragrance, Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense was first created by the brand in 2016, but its popularity has grown steadily in the last five years. The notes here are exquisite – Lavender, myrrh, tonka bean, vanilla and almond.

Again, the vanilla adds that warm skin element but with almond, it becomes all the more cosy and sexy. A Cologne Intense, this has all the making of a signature scent for whoever is lucky to receive it this Christmas.

Well, vanilla is in the name so this will hit the mark in our list of perfume gifts. From the fragrance brand Kayali at Huda Beauty, Utopia Vanilla Coco EDP is unashamedly feminine. The blend is made up of – Honeysuckle, pear blossom, lemon, coconut, tuberose, gardenia, vanilla bourbon, patchouli and musk

It’s brilliant for layering with something darker, but it is a joyful, sexy, and very appealing scent to wear. The pink bottle just makes it that little bit special.

Daisy EDT was the first from the Marc Jacobs franchise, there are dozens more now that came after. Young and energetic, the scent was created by Alberto Morillas, one of the world’s top perfumers. The scent has beautiful notes – Violet leaf, grapefruit, strawberry, gardenia, jasmine, white woods, vanilla and musk.

Kaia Gerber is the face of Daisy EDT and it has won a huge amount of awards. For the younger female perhaps, but a very fine example of an uplifting vanilla scent.
