Poco F6 chipset and camera details leaked ahead of its rumoured launch in India soon

The next smartphone to launch from the ‘mad’house of Poco, will likely be the Poco F6. The company has not made anything official yet. In fact, it hasn’t even begun to tease the smartphone. And if we look at the launch timeline of the Poco F5, which was launched some time in May 2023, the Poco F6 launch is still at least a month away. But what do you do about the rumour mills? The wind blows where it wants to. Days and weeks ahead of the launch, the chipset and camera details of the Poco F6 have leaked. The smartphone will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and will sport a dual camera setup.

The Poco F6, reportedly codenamed Peridot, was spotted in the HyperOS source code by Android Headlines. The spotting also revealed the camera sensors that will be used on the Poco F6. Reportedly, it will come with a dual camera setup, which will include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 882 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wise that will use an IMX 355 sensor. For selfies, it will apparently use an OV20B sensor from Omnivision.

Poco F6: Rebranded Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro or Redmi Note 13 Turbo?

Ever since the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro was launched in China a few days ago, rumours about the launch of the Poco F6 smartphone have been triggered.Â

But there have been two speculations around the Poco F6. One, is that it will be the rebranded version of the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, which was launched in China a few days ago. And the second, which claims that it will be the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro, which is expected to be launched in China in the coming weeks.Â

If the Poco F6 does happen to be a rebranded Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, the latter’s specifications and features will put in perspective what we could expect from the new Poco F-series phone.Â

What to expect from Poco F6?

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro features a 6.55-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset paired with Adreno 735 GPU, accompanied by 12 GB LPPDDR5x RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage.

For photography, the smartphone sports a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Leica Summilux lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor, complemented by dual 32-megapixel front cameras.

Fuelling the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is a 4,700 mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. It runs on Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS. The smartphone also comes with features like in-display fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, Hi-Res audio, stereo speakers, and Dolby Atmos support.

Interestingly, there are also rumoured that the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro could be launched in India as an entirely different phone. Rumours suggest that it could be launched in India as the Xiaomi 14 Civi. However, we don’t think that is likely, considering Xiaomi has never launched a Civi-branded smartphone in India. We think, even if Xiaomi did bring the Xiaomi 14 Civi 4 Pro to India, it would not carry the Civi moniker.Â

What about the Poco F6 Pro?

While there are many rumours about the Pro version yet, there will likely be a Poco F6 Pro as well. Last year, too, the Poco F-series had a Poco F5 and a Poco F5 Pro. The Poco F5 Pro used a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, and considering the Poco F6 is speculated to come with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, you can expect the Poco F6 Pro to be upgraded to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.Â
