RR paid a special tribute to Yuzvendra Chahal after he became the first player in the history of the IPL to complete 200 wickets. Chahal achieved this huge milestone during the match between RR and MI at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.Â
Like every other franchise that would celebrate their players’ milestones, RR did the same by putting up a post for their star bowler. However, RR yet again showcased their strong social media game as they took it a notch ahead.Â
RR updated their bio on ‘X’ which read, “Yuzvendra Chahal plays for us.” They also used a goat and heart emoji alongside.Â
200 WICKETS FOR CHAHAL!
Chahal reached the milestone by dismissing MI’s Mohammad Nabi after he was introduced into the attack in the 8th over of the innings. On his 3rd delivery, Chahal bowled a floated legbreak, only to get Nabi caught and bowled. RR vs MI: Live score
Chahal had surpassed Dwayne Bravo as the leading wicket-taker in IPL history last year. Chahal made his IPL debut for MI in 2011 and represented them in only one match against KKR.Â
CHAHAL’S JOURNEY IN IPL SO FAR
In 2014, he was bought by RCB and from there, his career took off. He picked up 139 wickets in 113 matches for Bengaluru. He was associated with RCB from 2014 to 2021 and emerged as their star bowler with an economy just above 7. He continues to be RCB’s leading wicket-taker. The franchise did not retain him in the mega auction of IPL 2022 and he was picked by the Royals for Rs 6.5 crore. IPL 2024 Full Coverage | IPL 2024 Points Table and Standings | 2024 IPL Full Schedule
