This coward had been a member of a prescribed terrorist group, had murdered people who confessed to throwing grenades at public and government places in Libya. Yet he was letting to the UK and allowed to remain here. He committed 20 offences and was imprisoned 5 times. We’ve heard today that despite his background and ongoing behaviour, the state catastrophically failed in his duty to identify the risks. And protect us, the public, from that risk. These were not just single feelings on behalf of one agency, these were catalogue of feelings on behalf of multiple state agencies, including the police. Mental Health services, the Home Office, Prison and Probation services, These state agencies have let us down. They failure to prevent this attack has destroyed our lives. I’m grateful that you’ve had to account for their feelings through this inquest process. And I’m grateful to the Judge Coroner for recognising in his conclusion today the State could have prevented James and George murders. I repeat, the state could have prevented David, James and George murders. When I told my mother that David was dead, she screamed, no, not my David, not my David. Next time, it could be your David, your James, your Joe, if your state does not accept the judge’s coronary findings and implement change.
