The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to run it back in 2024.
On Friday, the back-to-back Super Bowl champs announced their decision to sign Assistant Head Coach/Special Teams Coordinator Dave Toub on a contract extension.
“We have signed Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator Dave Toub to a contract extension,” the team wrote on X.
The extension re-ups Toub’s expiring contract for three more seasons, per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
This decision comes just a couple days after the team announced a contract extension for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnoulo.
Toub, 61, has coached under head coach Andy Reid for years now. He took over as the Chiefs’ special teams coordinator when Reid first accepted the head coaching position in 2013. Before that, he served as a special teams and quality control coach under Reid in Philadelphia.
In 2024, the Chiefs are going after the first Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history.
