The Philadelphia 76ers already knew the challenge of knocking off the defending champion Denver Nuggets on the road would be a challenge. It’s extremely tough to go into Ball Arena and defeat the Nuggets, but Philadelphia was already short-handed to begin with.
The Sixers already knew they’d be without De’Anthony Melton, Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, and Robert Covington, but now, they will be without their MVP leader.
Joel Embiid has now been ruled out for this contest against the Nuggets due to left knee soreness. He appeared to tweak the knee a bit in the loss to the Indiana Pacers to begin the trip.
Joel Embiid has left knee soreness. A source said the #Sixers athletic care didn’t like what they saw from the Sixers center during his on-court warmup pregame and made the decision to shut him down for the day. Embiid has not played in Denver since 2019.

With Embiid now out, as well as Mo Bamba, it will be extremely tough to beat the Nuggets. Paul Reed and Marcus Morris Sr. will now be tasked with defending 2-time MVP Nikola Jokic.
Tip off from Ball Arena is set for 5:30 p.m. EST as Philadelphia will need others to step up.
