Muntinlupa seniors get free maintenance meds
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Muntinlupa will start giving out free maintenance medicines to senior citizens, Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced on Friday.
Biazon said senior citizens may receive up to a month’s supply of maintenance medicines such as losartan, amlodipine and metformin.
To avail themselves of the service, Biazon said the elderly must go to nearby barangay health centers to register.
He also encouraged them to visit the Office of Senior Citizens’ Affairs to learn about other privileges and benefits for the elderly.
According to Biazon, the initiative is part of the local government’s commitment to expand the city’s health care system to include the well-being of senior citizens.
