Aged care consultant Paul Sadler explains the “pressures” on the aged care system.
An aged care provider in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains has announced that it is ending its home care program.
Catholic Care says it will cease its Commonwealth Home Support Program by the end of June.
The move comes 30 years after the provider started operating in the region.
“It’s very important that the older people who are receiving support from Catholic Care have a guarantee that they’re going to be provided with ongoing services,” Mr Sadler told Sky News Australia.
A ‘challenging time’ for aged care organisations as Catholic Care axes home support program
“It is a challenging time for these organisations.
“There’s a new aged care act that will be coming in shortly, which will cover these places.”
