Alden Richards on directing upcoming film: 'When dream turns into reality'

For Alden Richards, starring, producing, and directing his upcoming movie is a “dream turned reality.”

On Instagram, the 31-year-old actor shared a blurry photo of him wearing headphones while looking at a TV monitor.

On the next slide was a photo of a headphone, a laptop, and three folders that had “Producer Alden Richards,” “Alden Richards as Alex Roman Director,” and Mr. Alden Richards as Director,” on them.

“When a dream turns into reality…” Alden said in the caption.

In an interview with Nelson Canlas on “24 Oras Weekend,” Asia’s Multimedia Star said that this is his first directorial job and he’s “excited about it.”

“May script na kami, may cast na kami, and excited ako for this,” Alden said. “This is happening this November, before Christmas.”

Alden recently starred in the blockbuster movie “Five Break-Ups and a Romance,” with Julia Montes.

The film is set to hit select cinemas in California beginning Friday, including Orange Stadium Promenade, Cinemark Carson, Union City, and Vallejo, among other locations.

In the Philippines, “Five Break-Ups and a Romance” was a certified blockbuster, earning gross sales of P72 million as of its fourth week.

“Five Break-Ups and a Romance” follows the love story between Lance (Alden), a medical student, and Justine (Julia), an OFW in Singapore. The couple meets, reunites, fights, reconciles, and separates in an emotional journey showing the reality of relationships.
