Family of security guard arrives in Sydney to pay tribute

For Asda, here was a much loved brother and uncle, known for his strength and courage, now forever remembered as a national hero. Even till now, we couldn’t believe it that he’s no more. Mr. Tahir was among six people killed during the stabbing rampage at Westfield Bondi Junction a fortnight ago. The security guard desperately tried to save others. Even though he was a stranger, he gave his blood to protect the public. Here arrived in Australia 18 months ago. After fleeing persecution in Pakistan for being in Ahmadiyya Muslim, he quickly settled into his new homeland. Every time he was saying that oh, I’m happy here, It’s very good place. At least I can pray I can go to my mosque. The family would have been celebrating their brother’s 31st birthday yesterday. Instead they flew into Sydney to view his body for us to hear. Had only been in the country for over a year. But his death has touched so many people. A huge crowd is expected to gather here tomorrow for his funeral. Among those invited to attend, the Prime Minister and the Premier would like to welcome all Australians if they knew him or not to pray for him. Mr. De Here will be buried in Sydney, his family say it’s a fitting resting place given this was his final home.
