Sky News host Rita Panahi says there should be “greater outrage” that Tory MP Mike Freer has chosen not to contest re-election after receiving death threats and an arson attack on his office over his pro-Israel views.
‘Why isn’t there greater outrage?’: Tory MP resigning after death threats and arson attack
“One can understand his fear after Tory MP Sir David Amess was stabbed to death in his constituency by a radical Islamist back in 2021,” Ms Panahi said.
“Yet the reaction from authorities, even his colleagues seems to be one of acceptance – everyone has moved on.
“Why isn’t there greater outrage that a politician is stepping down because of fear of Islamist attack?”
Ms Panahi spoke with writer and presenter Connor Tomlinson about the matter.
