Ginebra completes comeback to beat Blackwater
Down by as many as 17 points in the opening period, the Gin Kings worked their way back patiently behind import Tony Bishop, new boy Maverick Ahanmisi and big man Christian Standhardinger.
Ahanmisi fired 12 of his 20 points in a critical third quarter Ginebra surge as the team outscored Blackwater, 30-19 to eventually grab a 71-69 lead.
The Gin Kings rode on that momentum on the way to booking their third win in four games, and forge a three-way tie at second spot with Meralco and Phoenix Super LPG.
Blackwater on the other, plummeted to 1-4 after losing its last four assignments.
Bishop led Ginebra with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Standhardinger had 16, 12 rebounds and six assists.
Import Chris Ortiz led Blackwater with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Troy Rosario and RK Ilagan had 15 apiece.
