Man's body found in drain in Kajang
KAJANG: The body of a man has been discovered in a 1.5m-deep (5ft) storm drain at Taman Bukit Mewah here.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said police were alerted to the discovery at 12.24pm on Monday (Nov 27).
“A team was dispatched to the scene. They discovered the body of a man clad in a white T-shirt and grey shorts.
“A team of firemen was also on hand to assist in recovering the body,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Nov 28).
An assistant medical officer from Hospital Kajang confirmed the victim was dead at about 1.45pm following the recovery of the body, he said.
“Initial investigation by the forensic team discovered there was no criminal element (in) the victim’s death.
“The case has been classified as sudden death and the body has been sent to Hospital Kajang for post-mortem,” he added.
ACP Mohd Zaid urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Sjn Norihan at 019-31602024, or the nearest police station.
