Mapua product Adrian Nocum signed by Rain or Shine to two-year deal
RAIN or Shine officially added to its roster another of its rookie picks from the last PBA draft.
Former Mapua guard Adrian Nocum agreed to a two-year deal for the Elasto Painters after being selected in the second round (No. 24 overall) in the draft two months ago.
In a post by the team in its official IG account, Nocum was seen with coach Yeng Guiao and deputy Caloy Garcia along with team manager Jireh Ibanes during the contract signing.
The addition of the 6-foot Nocum is expected to further bolster the Elasto Painters’ backcourt being manned by Rey Nambatac, Anton Assistio, and Andrei Caracut, who just recently scored a career-high 32 points in a losing 107-102 effort against defending Commissioner’s Cup champion Barangay Ginebra.
Nocum opted to skip his final year with Mapua after being the second leading scorer of the Cardinals in Season 98 with averages of 9.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.
He suited up for the San Juan Knights in the MPBL, but the team was eliminated by the Pampanga Lanterns in the North Division finals.
Nocum will be coming to a Rain or Shine side that has so far been winless in four outings in the Commissioner’s Cup.
