Casio’s Samurai Spirit in a Watch

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. combines the essence of traditional Japanese culture with cutting-edge technology in its latest horological masterpiece—the MRG-B2000SG. The timepiece, which is part of G-SHOCK’s MR-G series, honors the traditional Japanese Shougeki-Maru: Gai kabuto helmet.

With only 700 pieces available globally, this watch incorporates key elements from the kabuto helmet, such as the tiger-patterned maedate crest representing strength and the white ito odoshi symbolizing a samurai’s determination.

Crafted with expert metalworking, the MRG-B2000SG, priced at Php445,370 SRP, features a shock-resistant design, a white fluor rubber band for flexibility and durability, and a titanium case with a dark silver ion-plated finish. It showcases a rugged look echoing the kabuto helmet’s color, with special commemorative touches including a metal plate for G-Shock’s 40th anniversary and ruby-set screw heads.

The bezel sports a ferocious tiger design engraved by metalsmith Kobayashi Masao, while craftsman Suzukine Yuzan contributes his expertise to the helmet and armor, emphasizing the watch’s connection to samurai heritage and craftsmanship.

Only 700 pieces of this watch are available worldwide, and it costs P445,370 (SRP).
