THE Marinduque State College Gender and Development (MSC-GAD), in cooperation with the Regional GAD Council-Mimaropa and the Provincial Government of Marinduque, held the 1st Gender and Development National Research Conference at the MSC Audio-Visual Room and via onlineon Nov. 15 to 17, 2023.
The conference theme was “Understanding Gender and Development: Transforming Lives, Eradicating Violence Against Women and Children.”

Simultaneously conducted onsite and online, it gathered researchers from different disciplines as an avenue and an opportunity for faculty staff members. Students showcased their outputs and updated the academe on exploring GAD and its intersections with violence against women and children.
The plenary session speaker was Dr. Raveenthiran Vivekananthan from the Open University of Sri Lanka, after which the research papers presentation was conducted
RGADC-Mimaropa facilitated gender training on the second and third days with topics on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression and sex characteristics or SOGIESC, GAD focal point system, gender mainstreaming and analysis, harmonized gender and development guidelines, and GAD planning and budgeting.
