The Gallery of Modern Art’s summer blockbuster arrives this week in a flurry of fantastical imagery. Fairy Tales is the highly anticipated art and design exhibition centred on European folktale traditions, with contemporary art, movie costumes and a series of free movies taking over the gallery.
In a similar vein, the week sees the opening of Opera Australia’s production of Wagner’s earth-shattering Ring Cycle; a performance by ear-shattering Polish dark metal act Behemoth; and a victory lap by retiring new-wave weirdos Devo.
Add to that a new Trolls movie, Queensland Ballet’s The Nutcracker, and The Enchanted Garden light show, and Brisbane seems primed to make all your entertainment wishes come true.
